TEDxSydney is the leading platform and pipeline for the propagation of Australian ideas, creativity, innovation and culture to the rest of the world. What was once was once a small community gathering to share ideas has since grown into the national powerhouse that is TEDxSydney.
Changing requirements and surging public interest were adding increasing pressure on TEDxSydney’s existing system. In truth, the 'system' was a mish-mash, cobbled together by willing volunteers. Wish a database of over 30,000 community members, it was near impossible to keep data clean and useable with the existing patchwork of disconnected platforms and manual processes.
AlphaSys worked with the TEDxSydney team to define the problem and create a solution. Salesforce CRM was implemented as a more robust and formal foundation, able to grow with the organisation as TEDxSydney expanded. The AlphaSys team were able to integrate Salesforce with a new TEDxSydney event registration system, so that all components of the user experience were seamlessly linked.
The TEDxSydney website received hundreds of applications and thousands of hits within hours of launch but was able to perform at full functionality despite this huge amount of traffic. Integration between the Salesforce CRM and the event registration system successfully handled the thousands of applicants and attendees, dramatically reducing the need for manual workarounds. This integration created a much smoother and more enjoyable experience for staff, volunteers and attendees. The huge reduction in manual processing freed the team at TEDxSydney to put their energy into what makes them special: their great programs.
